Am I blocked if my iMessage doesn’t say delivered
Now, though, Apple has updated iOS so that (in iOS 9 or later), if you try to send an iMessage to someone who blocked you, it’ll remain blue (which means it’s still an iMessage).
However, the person you’ve been blocked by will never receive that message.
Note that you don’t get a ‘Delivered’ notification.
What does it mean when an iMessage goes from read to delivered
iMessage automatically sends a delivered notification when a message has been delivered to its intended recipient. Turning them on doesn’t mean you’ll be able to see when someone reads your messages, it only means your device will send a read receipt when you read your messages.
Why can’t I see when someone read my iMessage
If it’s green, it’s an ordinary text message and doesn’t offer the read/delivered receipts. iMessage only works when you’re sending messages to other iPhone users. Even then, you’ll only see that they’ve read your message if they’ve turned on the ‘Send Read Receipts’ option in Settings > Messages.
How do you know if someone turned your read receipt off on iMessage
When those two check marks turn blue, it means the recipient has read your message. If the check marks don’t turn blue, they may have turned read receipts off.
What does it mean if an iMessage doesnt say delivered
If the message is blue, it is an Apple message. If it doesn’t say “Delivered” or “Read” below the message it means the message has not yet been delivered. This could be due to the person to whom you are sending the message being offline, or maybe they have their iPhone off or on Do Not Disturb.
How do you know if someone blocks your iMessage
There is one clue that you’ve been blocked, though. Look underneath the last text you sent before you suspect you were blocked, does it say Delivered? If the previous iMessage says Delivered but the most recent one doesn’t, it can mean that you’ve been blocked.
Can you take back a read receipt
Nope. Once the receiver opens the message and iMessage sends the read receipt, it is permanent. If the receiver turns off read receipts after reading the message, existing messages will stay as read to the sender. All new read messages will show up as delivered to the sender until the setting is back on.

Can you read a text and then mark it as unread
Unread is a jailbreak tweak that allows you to tap and hold on a message to mark it as unread. If the message is already unread, you can conversely tap and hold on it to make it read. The concept is certainly admirable, but I found that the tweak is not without issue.
Why do some iMessages say read
Read means the user that you sent the message to actually opened up the iMessage app. If it says delivered, they most likely didn’t look at the message although it was sent through. You can change it though in Settings to make it that you don’t send a read receipt when you read a message.
How can you tell if someone read your text
- Open your Android’s Messages/texting app. Most Androids do not come with a texting app that lets you know when someone has read your message, but yours might.
- Tap the menu icon. It’s usually a ⁝ or ≡ at one of the top corners of the screen.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Advanced.
- Turn on the option for “Read Receipts.”
Can you tell if a non friend has read your message
Nothing will appear if the latest message hasn’t been read. It’s as simple can be. If a friend has read your message, you’ll see a miniature version of their profile picture. If they haven’t, you’ll see a blue icon with a white checkmark indicating the message has been delivered, but not yet read.
What happens if I turn off read receipts on iMessage
The process of sending Read Receipts only runs at that point at which the status of a message changes from “unread” to “read” (i.e. when you first open a conversation with a new message, thereby clearing the blue dot or red notification badge). If Send Read Receipts is off at that point, no read receipt will be sent.
When a text says delivered does that mean read
Sending and sent mean just what they say – sending in progress, and then sent to the recipients device. “Delivered” will normally appear only for messages to another Verizon wireless phone, and it simply means it was delivered to the device. It does NOT mean the recipient has opened it, merely that it was delivered.
Why do some text messages say delivered and some do not
It means that the message was not sent to their phone. When it doesn’t say Delivered, it means the other person is texting someone else or on the phone. Once they stop texting or hang up the phone, you will see the text message has been delivered.
Will iMessage say delivered if phone is off
While the phone is off that message will wait on Apple’s servers. However there is a setting under Messaging which says “Send as SMS”. If you have this setting enabled then when an iMessage is not delivered your phone will cancel the original iMessage, and instead send it as an SMS (green bubble).
Do iMessages turn green when blocked
However, in the digital era, it is pretty unlikely that the iMessage network doesn’t work and the iMessage you sent have to revert back as a text message. We have a simple remedy to this. Just keep sending iMessages intermittently and if they all turn green from blue, then unhappily, you have been blocked definitely.
How do I know if my iMessage was delivered
Look for “Delivered” under your last message.
- If “Send Read Receipts” is enabled by the recipient, then it will change to “Read” once the message has actually been seen.
- If you see “Sent as a Text Message,” that means your message was sent using your carrier’s SMS service rather than Apple’s iMessage servers.
